This Privacy Policy explains how Estimancer ("Estimancer," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, web application, and related Services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, business name, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text).
• Job and estimate content: job descriptions, photos, voice notes, line items, pricing, client names and contact details, and other content you enter or upload to generate estimates.
• Payment information: if you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and stores your billing details. Estimancer does not store full payment card numbers on our own servers.
• Usage and device data: log data, IP address, browser type, and how you interact with the Service, collected automatically to keep the Service secure and improve it.
• Integration data: if you choose to connect a third-party account (for example, Gmail or Outlook, to send estimates from your own email address), we access only the permissions you grant, to perform the action you request.

How We Use Information

We use the information above to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including generating AI-assisted estimates from the job details you provide.
• Authenticate your account and verify your identity, including by sending one-time verification codes.
• Process payments and manage subscriptions.
• Send estimates, invoices, and related communications on your behalf, at your direction, to your clients.
• Provide customer support, and communicate with you about your account or the Service.
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
• Improve and develop the Service.

Text Messaging (SMS) Program

With your consent, Estimancer sends text messages to the mobile number you provide for two purposes: (1) one-time verification codes when you sign up or log in, and (2) notifying you or your clients that an estimate is ready to view, when you choose to send an estimate by text.

• Consent: you opt in by entering your phone number in the app and confirming it. Recipients of estimate links opt in when a contractor using Estimancer sends them a text at their request.
• Message frequency varies based on your account activity (e.g., login verification codes, one text per estimate sent). We do not send marketing texts.
• Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
• Opt out: reply STOP to any message at any time to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help, or contact support@estimancer.com.
• We do not share or sell mobile phone numbers or SMS consent/opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. This information is shared only with the SMS platform providers (e.g., Twilio) who deliver these messages on our behalf. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

• Service providers who help us operate the Service, including Amazon Web Services (hosting and infrastructure), Stripe (payment processing), Twilio (text messaging), Resend (email delivery), and Anthropic (AI processing of job descriptions and photos to generate estimate content).
• Your clients, when you send them an estimate, invoice, or related communication through the Service.
• Third-party integrations you connect (such as Gmail or Outlook), limited to the permissions you grant.
• Legal or safety purposes, if required by law or necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Estimancer, our users, or others.

Each of these providers is contractually limited to using your information to perform Services on our behalf.

Data Retention & Security

We retain account and estimate data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service and comply with legal obligations. We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Choices & Rights

You can access, update, or delete most account information directly in your Estimancer settings. You may also contact us at support@estimancer.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to opt out of non-essential communications. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the CCPA or GDPR; we will honor applicable requests consistent with those laws.

Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, when appropriate, notify you directly.
